A life shaped by prayers, quiet contemplation & sacred wisdom.
Vraj Bihari Das grew up in the sacred town of Udupi as a little boy named as Venugopal Acharya, surrounded by loved ones, tradition and the quiet presence of devotion. Introverted, observant and curious, even as a boy, he was always looking a little deeper, wondering about life, people and the bigger questions that give our lives meaning.
He went on to build a successful professional life at KPMG and ICICI. But beneath the accomplishments was a deeper calling: to understand the bigger questions in life and what makes a life truly meaningful.
Over the years, that search became a journey of travelling, learning, teaching, writing and quiet contemplation, one that eventually led him to a simple understanding: spirituality is not about becoming perfect. It is about coming back to Krishna, again and again, exactly as we are.
This understanding has shaped the way Vraj Bihari Das lives, teaches and serves today. He mentors young monks and families, and speaks to people across different walks of life, in countries like India, the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and the US, bringing spiritual wisdom into deeply human questions.

Moments That
Shaped the Path
8 July 1973
Where It All Began
Born in Udupi, where devotion, temple bells and stories of Krishna became the first language of his inner world.
~1984
Carrying Home Within
At ten, he moved to Mumbai, carrying with him the spiritual impressions of a childhood he would return to in ways he could not yet understand.
~1996
A Question Beneath Success
With an MBA and a growing corporate career at ICICI, KPMG Peat Marwick and the Times Group, life seemed to be unfolding well. Yet, quietly, another question was emerging:
Is there something more?
1996–1998
The Search Begins
Inspired by a book on Prahlad Maharaj, he received his first taste of chanting. The practice came and went, but the longing remained. Then came a glimpse of Maharaj on 14 November 1997, followed by his first visit to Radha Gopinath Temple on 14 January 1998. Something within him recognised it: This feels like home.
27 May 1998
A Daily Choice
He committed to sixteen rounds of chanting each day, turning a spiritual longing into a practice and eventually, a way of life.
6 March 1999
Choosing Wholeness
As the inner calling became clearer, he made the decision to leave the corporate world and dedicate his life to devotion and service.
~2000–2011
Learning Through People
With HH Radhanath Swami as his spiritual master and young seekers around him, he discovered that spiritual life was not only about finding God. It was also about learning to listen, serve and be present for another human being.
~2002–2007
Learning to Listen Within
He began journaling, creating a private space for his questions and inner life. After a pause, he returned to it around 2007, and the journal became a daily conversation with Krishna.
~2017–2020
Turning Inner Questions Outward
Through Are You Connected?, Cricket in a Monastery and Mind Your Mind, years of personal exploration became a shared journey, helping others explore connection, the mind and the search for meaning.

Today
Still Walking. Still Serving.
As a monk, pujari, counsellor and author, he continues to walk the path while helping others find their own way with Krishna, with themselves and with each other.
The Beliefs
Spirituality should make us more human, not less.
Bhakti is not an escape from life. It is the art of becoming kinder, more patient, more compassionate and more aware in everyday life.
Honest reflection is a form of devotion.
When we pause, look within and see ourselves honestly, we create space for Krishna to guide and transform us.
Krishna's acceptance comes before our perfection.
We are loved by Krishna as we are. His grace empowers us to grow, not our attempts to become perfect.
Growth happens gently, not forcefully.
Real change is rarely dramatic. It is the quiet, consistent choice to turn towards Krishna one moment at a time.
Bhakti is a relationship, not a performance.
It is about connection, conversation and caring- a living relationship with Krishna and with all of His children.
Srila Prabhupada's Ashray
Hearing Srila Prabhupada’s voice is one of my deepest spiritual anchors. I feel immense gratitude to him for giving me the shelter of Krishna consciousness and constantly reminding me of what truly matters.
His words protect me from being swept away by the distractions of the material world. They remind me that seeking lasting happiness here is like trying to remain on a sinking boat, while devotional service offers us the safe shelter that carries us back to Krishna.
I am grateful that Srila Prabhupada did not merely give us philosophy—he gave us a path, a shelter, and the opportunity to develop a genuine relationship with Krishna. Whenever my practice feels difficult, hearing his voice brings reassurance, strength, and renewed faith.
For this causeless mercy, I will always remain deeply indebted to him. My prayer is that I may never take his gift for granted and may sincerely follow the path he has given us.
Sri Guru's Ashray
For years, I carried my own baggage of internal struggles, doubts, and endless complaints. But Radhanath Swami made my life feel complete by capturing my heart through his unconditional love, deep compassion, and pure servant-of-servant mood. Whenever I felt overwhelmed or held on to grievances, even a gentle smile or loving hug from Maharaj would dissolve everything in an instant.
I often found myself thinking: “Shikayaton ki payi payi jod kar rakhi thi maine, usne gale laga kar sara hisab uda diya.” — I had carefully kept an account of every single grievance, but his embrace made the entire account disappear.
He didn’t merely instruct me in scripture; he anchored me in the transformative culture of genuine gratitude. Through his example, I have learned that spiritual life becomes complete not through seeking position, praise, or credit, but when we learn to recognize Krishna’s grace in every circumstance, humbly serve the Vaishnavas, and live with an authentic, open heart.
